Based in West London, Chelsea has evolved into one of England's top Premiership football clubs in recent times. Since being bought over and financed by Russian billionaire Roman Abromovich and led by former manager Jose Mourinho, the Blues became only the second team in the history of the league to win two successive Premiership titles (2005 & 2006).

Their 2005 victory was the club's first in 50 years.

Manager: Felipe Scolari

On an international level, the Brazilian born Felipe Scolari has attained remarkable success, leading Brazil to victory in the 2002 World Cup and Portugal to the Final of Euro 2004, as well as fourth place in the 2006 World Cup. He is famous, infamous to some, for his passion and temper which should earn him both fans and critics in England. Beyond the hype, "Big Phil" brings a fearsome and functional dynamic to the table and his progress through the season will be watched with intrigue.

Stadium: Stamford Bridge

Stamford Bridge is located in Fulham. The stadium is called 'The Bridge' by Chelsea supporters and can seat over 42,000 people. The Club is in the process of reviewing its options in regards to expanding the ground. Currently the facility is the seventh largest football stadium in the English Premiership.

Chelsea - 2008/2009 Season

Last season Chelsea was in the hunt for three trophies, but The Blues failed to convert. The turmoil of losing Mourinho was just too much for the side, despite a dignified effort from Avram Grant to pick up the pieces. The arrival of Felipe Scolari, with the same trumpets as Mourinho's entry four years ago, bodes well for their chances this season – with the coach already signing sublime playmaker Deco and defender Jose Bosingwa. Otherwise the squad is so far unchanged and, like United, The Blues are a little weak in attack. Scolari is already on the lookout for a new striker and with the heavy financial might of Abromovich, you can be sure he will find the right boots for the job. Chelsea are early favourites to claim the Premier League title and are a solid chance to double or triple up on the silverware this season.
